Where to eat, drink, and sleep in Turin: a practical (and heartfelt) guide to experiencing it like a local

Turin is a wonderful paradox.

Elegant yet imperfect, aristocratic yet gently punk, austere like a Savoyard novel but with sudden cracks of Mediterranean light.

Many cities show themselves.

Turin, instead, grants you access.

This is not a “to do list” guide.

It’s the sensory itinerary of the Turin that made us stay longer at the table, that made us look into glasses to better understand the city, that made us live the hotel not as a stopover, but as part of the story.

Where to Sleep

Where to stay based on your style

Quadrilatero Romano → for those who want evenings on foot + historic little restaurants

San Salvario → cocktail bars, multicultural vibe, more intense energy

Center → elegant atmosphere, museums, special shops

Where to sleep: Sleep at Look To Torino

Look To Torino is the perfect choice if you are looking for a well-kept accommodation, close to the center, comfortable for exploring on foot.

Bright rooms, intimate atmosphere, no coldness of an anonymous hotel: here you immediately feel at home.

It’s a simple place but tasteful, ideal for those who want to explore Turin and return in the evening to a welcoming place.

Eating

Dispensa: a two-floor venue combining wine shop, gastronomy, and cocktail bar. On the ground floor there is the gastronomy counter with hot and cold dishes of Piedmontese tradition. Upstairs is the cocktail bar, with a view over Galleria Subalpina.

Razzo: small, creative, well-chosen ingredients, contemporary dishes. Perfect if you want a different Turin: less tradition, more curious outlook.

Scannabue: contemporary trattoria that tells Turin through well-made Piedmontese dishes. Tajarin, vitello tonnato, braised meat: full flavors, just right portions, attentive service. It’s one of those places that never disappoints.

Caffè San Carlo – Piazza San Carlo: iconic, historic, ceilings like a theater. Cappuccino, brioche, important tables: it’s the classic Turin breakfast.

Affini: A tasting here in Turin is a small contemporary Savoyard ritual. Starting from the vermouths which here are never “just aperitifs” but infusions, stories, mountain botanicals, resinous notes, and vanilla intertwined with the citrus fruits of Piedmont. It’s an intimate experience, almost like a creative laboratory.

Turin is not a city to visit.

It’s a city to have told to you — through tables, glasses, rooms.

And when you’ve understood it, you realize you were not a tourist here: you were a guest.
