Umbria Boutique Escape: Our Experience at Rastrello, Vocabolo Moscatelli, and Palazzo Petrvs

Umbria is one of those regions that welcomes you quietly and then surprises you in every detail: slow, authentic, enveloping.
For our itinerary, we chose three accommodations that are so much more than a place to sleep. They are spaces that tell stories, visions, people. Places that become part of the journey.
Here is the story of our three boutique stops: Rastrello, Vocabolo Moscatelli, and Palazzo Petrvs. Three different ways to experience Umbria, each truly unforgettable.

Rastrello – Panicale: among olive trees, silence, and authentic hospitality

Our journey began in Panicale, one of the most scenic villages in Italy.
Rastrello is the kind of place you don’t expect: set inside an ancient palazzo, it captures the charm of Umbrian homes and the attention to detail of contemporary boutique accommodations.
The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, almost familiar. The rooms are an ode to natural materials, soft light, and elegant minimalism. But the real magic lies outside: the view over the olive trees and hills that fade into Lake Trasimeno.

It’s the kind of place that slows you down without even trying.
Slow breakfasts, the smell of freshly baked bread, strolls through the alleys of Panicale.
Rastrello is a gentle embrace: simple, essential, emotional.

Vocabolo Moscatelli – where design, nature, and meaningful details meet

Our second stop was Vocabolo Moscatelli, an oasis of peace nestled in the Umbrian countryside.
Here, aesthetics take center stage: stone, wood, clean lines, and a design that embraces nature rather than overpowering it. It’s one of those places where every corner feels intentionally crafted to make you feel good.

The garden is vast, curated, and serene. The stone pool is a dream.
The rooms? A perfect blend of intimacy, sophistication, and absolute comfort.
What captivated us most was the balance: understated luxury, impeccable yet discreet service, and spaces infused with calm and intention.
It’s the perfect place for travelers seeking privacy, beauty, and silence.
A moment of well-being we wished could last much longer.

Palazzo Petrvs – Todi: contemporary elegance meets history

Our final stop—only in chronological order—was Palazzo Petrvs, in the heart of Todi.
A boutique hotel set inside a historic palazzo that holds centuries of stories, transformed into a modern and elegant refuge.
Here, design meets art, comfort meets thoughtful detail, and every space has its own identity without losing the soul of the place.
The rooms are bright, refined, with a palette that soothes and inspires.
It’s the kind of place that makes you say:
“Okay, this isn’t just a hotel. This is an experience.”
Perfect for those who love staying in the heart of a historic town while enjoying style, character, and a touch of contemporary luxury.

Umbria has once again taught us that beauty doesn’t need noise: it lives in details, in silence, in encounters.
Rastrello, Vocabolo Moscatelli, and Palazzo Petrvs were not just places to stay—they were three different ways of feeling at home, far from home. Three moments of calm, inspiration, and gratitude.
If you choose to follow in our footsteps, we hope these places will offer you the same feeling we carried with us on the way back home: the certainty that when a journey is chosen with the heart, it always changes you a little.
