Sleeping Among the Tuscan Olive Trees: the Glamping BeVedetta

During our tour of the Tuscan Maremma we decided to stay at Glamping BeVedetta.

If you’re looking for a nature experience, immersed among Tuscan olive trees but with all the comforts of a hotel room, BeVedetta is the right place for you.

Equipped tents spread across the hill of Scarlino, with the option to choose either a sea view or a view of the hilltop village.

The love behind the construction of the Glamping is noticeable in the little details and becomes clear as soon as you have a chat with the owner: Anna Barberini.

Her dedication to her family’s memories pushed her to leave her secure job to launch this project which includes, in addition to the Glamping, 6 rooms in the main Villa and a charming B&B in the historic center of Scarlino made up of 3 rooms.

The Glamping, on the other hand, has a love story dedicated primarily to her mother; the tents are actually arranged to form the Taurus constellation, the zodiac sign of her mother, and each tent is named after one of the constellation’s stars.

BeVedetta is completely pet-friendly; you will find many accommodations for your animals, starting with a menu with different dishes and biscuits in the breakfast section.

THE LODGE

Inside each tent there is a cozy sitting area, a huge king-size bed, independent air conditioning/heating, Wi-Fi, TV with Sky, minibar, private bathroom with shower, kettle with a selection of teas and coffee, a suspended porch.

Breakfast, in this particular period, was delivered directly to our room inside a typical picnic basket and we enjoyed it on our little table on the terrace overlooking the olive trees in total peace.

SERVICES

BeVedetta offers a beautiful lagoon-style infinity pool on the hill, where you can relax after a day exploring the Maremma hills or the crowded beaches of nearby Punta Ala.

There is also the Bistrot Rosso Corbezzolo (open for lunch and dinner), where we had the pleasure of enjoying an excellent dinner. The menu changes every day and you can be sure to taste typical dishes of the region.

We ate deconstructed Tuscan crostino, vegetable flan with pecorino fondue, pici with mixed beef and Cinta Senese ragù, beef cheek with caramelized onion.

Anna, together with two friends, created the line “Le Signore dell’Olio”, a collection of three oils from three different areas of the Maremma (Scarlino, Massa Marittima, Cinigiano) with three distinct flavors. Naturally, part of the olive groves dedicated to this production are precisely those surrounding BeVedetta.

WHAT TO DO NEARBY

Near BeVedetta there are many activities you can do.

If you need relaxation head to one of the many nearby beaches; you can choose among those of Scarlino, Follonica and the Argentario.

If you’re in the mood to discover the territory you can visit the beautiful villages of the Maremma, the Tarot Garden or the peculiar Lake Accesa.
